About me
Welcome to my website.
My first step into painting was to attend evening classes in watercolours, and I used this medium to record family holidays and to create cards for friends and family.
In 2014 I discovered Acrylics, and have loved using them ever since. I revel in the bright colours and striking images that I can create.
I have developed my skills and techniques by attending workshops at Studio 77 in Southampton for several years. As a member of New Forest Art Society and Romsey Art Group, I have been able to attend demonstrations and workshops by a range of different artists who have given me inspiration and taught me new methods and approaches.
I belong to Atherley Artists, an informal painting group based in Shirley, Southampton. For the last 3 years we have staged exhibitions of our work as part of Hampshire Open Studios, at St James Park, Shirley, Southampton. Since 2018 we have also held independent exhibitions at St James' Road Methodist Church, Shirley, Southampton. In these venues I have been able to find a market for my paintings and for greetings cards based on my work.
